Subject: The Dalai Lama and His Holiness the President of Iceland
To: miranda.fasulo@tufts.edu, Stephen.Bosworth@tufts.edu
Dear Ms. Fasulo and Dean Bosworth
I just saw your ad for a talk by the Beloved Leader Mr. President of the Republic of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson at the Fletcher School. I fear this ad will not be seen as a compliment by the Leader, for two reasons:
When the President and Supreme Leader recently announced his candidacy for a fifth four year period as President (and Heavenly Benefactor) of Iceland he presented himself as the Messiah, both to Iceland and the rest of the world. I therefore don’t think His Excellency would like to have his Godly image obfuscated by simultaneously likening him to an alleged representative of another deity, however well deserving His Royal Highness is of that.
As Fletcher is „A Graduate School of International Affairs“ I am certain that you are well aware that the Venerable Mr. President is one of the best friends of the Beijing Government and seen by this Government as one of its most important and stalwart allies. Also that said Government has frequently been accused (wrongly, no doubt) of perpetrating various human rights violations on the followers of the Dalai Lama. Because of the righteous war of the Beijing Government against the warmongering terrorist sect worshipping the Dalai Lama, and because of the amicable relations and mutual admiration of this government and His Holiness the President of Iceland, I fear that you are doing a disservice to the President (and the People’s Esteemed Government in Beijing) by likening Mr. Grimsson to the Dalai Lama.
Sincerely,
Einar Steingrímsson
