Eva is Haukur’s mother. She has supported his political activism since he was a teenager and participated in some of his demonstrations.
In her talk, Eva will give an overview of Haukur‘s political development and explain the ideology and experience behind her son’s decision to join the Kurdish resistance.
Although Haukur’s most obvious aim was to support the Kurd’s effort to establish a stateless democracy and stop the atrocities of ISIS, his reasons were probably far more complicated. Eva will talk about ISIS ideology and it’s relations to other systems of power.
